Marco Orsi, nicknamed "the Bomber", is a natural born sprinter. Born in 1990, he specializes in short distance freestyle and relay. He has already charted an enviable career. He is the holder of the Italian national record for the 50m freestyle and has won 19 national and 33 international medals. He made his debut with the Italian national team at the 2007 European Junior Swimming Championships. He won his first gold medal at World Junior Championships in the 4x100m freestyle. At the European Junior Championships that same year, he took the silver medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4x100m mixed and 100m freestyle. At the 2008 European Championships in Fiume, he won the gold medal in the 4x50m freestyle. In 2009, he won his first national title at the winter and spring Mediterranean Championships. He took his first gold medal (4x50m freestyle) and had his first individual win (50m mixed relay) at a high-level international championship in 2010. In 2012, he broke his own personal record at the Junior Championships in Rome in the 50m and 100m freestyle. At the 2015 World Championships in Kazan, he took the bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay. The same year, he won the gold medal at the European Championships in Israel in the 100m freestyle. He also took silver in the 50m freestyle, another gold in the 4x100m mixed and a silver in the 4x100m freestyle. For him, the best is yet to come!
